Light a black candle! Today is a sacred day! Kitsch classick and camp masturpiece (sic) Orgy of the Dead (1965) was released on this day (1 June 1965) fifty-five years ago. The b-movie “nudie cutie” sexploitation horror film – also known as Nudie Ghoulies, Ghouls & Dolls and Orgy of the Damned - was directed by Stephen C Apostolof with a script by demented visionary Edward D Wood Jr (a reliable sign of quality!), filmed in Gorgeous Astravision and Shocking Sexicolour and is pretty much 92-minutes of topless beauties go-go dancing in a graveyard. In other words – cinematic bliss and the acme of “Bad Movies We Love”! I got my digitally re-mastered deluxe dual format Blu-ray / DVD of Orgy of the Dead a few years ago via Vinegar Syndrome and it’s exquisite – recommended!
